Association Support & Management

The cornerstone of Western Advocates’ business is our commitment to delivering association management services at an unrivaled level of quality. The intensive experience and training of our staff has enabled the company to manage overall association activities when needed.

Once a membership association reaches a certain size and scope, managing the organization becomes too time-consuming for volunteers. At that time, the choice for effective association management generally boils down to two options: 1) hiring association professional staff to man a stand-alone office facility, or 2) contract with an association management company.

Western Advocates currently provides the management contract option to three diverse organizations. The services that we provide these organizations include:

  • Planning and staffing of monthly board meetings, monthly educational training events to complete requirements for professional accreditation, and monthly social networking events.
  • Planning and staffing of statewide conferences
  • Website maintenance
  • Overseeing production and distribution of newsletters and annual directories
  • Coordination of government affairs efforts
  • Planning and staffing of annual golf tournaments
  • Preparation and distribution of membership dues statements.
  • Maintenance of all financial accounts, providing monthly reports to board, and interfacing with CPAs to produce annual tax returns

When providing overall association management, we have an extensive track record of event planning, membership database maintenance, publication of newsletters, website creation and updates, and all the other unique needs of individual membership organizations.

Western Advocates currently manages three organizations:

  • Oregon Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association
  • Oregon Transit Association
  • Oregon/SW Washington Chapter of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR)
